Welcome to the CPSQA website As I begin my mandate as the new Chair of the CPSQA on November 1, 2011, I would like to give my sincere thanks to the outgoing Chair and Vice-Chair, John Thomas and Don Wilson, for their invaluable work. We are fortunate that they will continue to make a significant contribution to the Association as Directors and, in the case of Don Wilson, as Secretary.
I am honoured to have been elected the new Chair and I am happy to contribute to the Association my 30 year experience in the public sector. CPSQA plays a key role and remains committed to being the leader in fostering Management Excellence / Quality Management in the public sector. With your support, we will continue to bring together professionals dedicated to the development of well-performing organizations responsive to their clients, their employees and their stakeholders. Jean Tourigny, CPSQA Chair The CPSQA Website The site provides CPSQA with a foundation to expand our geographic reach and the public service community interested in Management Excellence, Quality Management, Organizational Improvement and other areas. Also, in the spirit of incorporating member feedback and continuous improvement, we've added functions to ease navigation and expand the resources available to Members. Please be sure to provide us with any further enhancements that you may wish to have by emailing our

. We invite you to return to this site often as it is our intention to continue to add content that will provide positive support to our public sector friends.
CPSQA Boards The National and NCR Chapter Board members are listed separately and are available on this site. Visitors to this site will notice that the National and NCR Board Officers are the same for both Boards. It is anticipated that this will change for future years as the Chapter and NCR Boards begin to function separately. Formation of two new CPSQA Chapters During the summer of 2009, your Directors set up two pilot chapters, one in Kingston, Ontario and the other in Kelowna, British Columbia. At the same time, what had previously been the only active group in CPSQA became the National Capital Region (NCR) Chapter. This website is being updated to reflect the new structure and By-Laws are under review. The first of the new pilot chapters to hold a meeting was the new Kingston Chapter, on December 2nd. To read more about that event, log in and visit our Meeting pages that you will find in our Member Resources area. Our B.C. Interior Chapter is making plans to introduce CPSQA to cities of the Interior and is organizing a CPSQA information meeting to take place the first half of June, 2010. Join CPSQA to get maximum benefit from this websiteVisitors will quickly learn that to access many of our website features, you first will have to become a Member. Fortunately, that is not at all difficult, nor is there currently any cost to join. Becoming a Member will add you to the appropriate list to receive email meeting announcements and other items of interest. NOTE: For those of you who are already Members, we ask that you complete a profile. Please take the time to re-establish your Membership right here on our site by selecting the Membership item from the menu above. It is easy and free - and it will give you access to some interesting quality information. While we could add your name from our earlier database, we would encourage each Member to take the time to re-join and complete your profile to assure good future communications. Plans for the Future Current plans include developing an Excellence Toolkit, containing tools to help public sector officials at all levels develop techniques designed to foster organizational excellence. The Toolkit will contain Quality and Workplace Health tools that will be a significant benefit to all. Please note that this Toolkit, to be developed during 2011, will be contained in our Member Resources area and thus will only be accessible to CPSQA Members. Another longer-range plan is to develop a French website and our Board is considering options for achieving this objective, including arranging a financial supporter to help us develop the French site. As a start, for any information we receive that is in both English and French, both versions will be posted. A document prepared in French also may be posted in that language. |
